Weekly and termly homework is uploaded to Google Classroom and children and parents are expected to access it from there. Teachers provide hard copies of tasks where necessary and when requested.
Class teachers set English and Maths weekly homework tasks and are responsible for ensuring the demands of homework are manageable and achievable for all pupils.
Homework at Invicta is optional, and whilst children are encouraged to complete it there will not be consequences if they do not. We also provide opportunities for children to complete homework in school.
More information is in the Homework Policy.
Google’s cloud based system has changed how Invicta Primary School uses technology in education. Google drive , google classroom and google apps for education are secure and ad free. With google, students and teachers can create, share and edit files in real time from any internet enabled device. The paperless technology is used to enhance children’s learning experiences in the classroom and facilitates collaboration and project based learning. From a practical point of view, it is accessible in school or at home and work can never be lost. It saves time , paper and costs. Currently , we have 130 chromebook devices across both sites for use in all areas in the curriculum . We are working with google to ensure our children and staff can develop their digital competence continuously.
